Dana received a BFA in painting and photography from Cornell University and continued with graduate studies in photography at Brooks Institute of Photography. The bulk of her early professional career was focused on commercial photographic illustration with clients such as US News and World Report, Forbes, Parenting magazine, Hallmark, and Simon and Schuster. Her work is represented by Getty Images, and her photographs have been published internationally.
With the birth of her first child in 2002, Dana moved to Mill Valley and turned her photographic eye toward children. Now a mother of three, she continues to photograph kids and families all over the bay area.
Most recently, Dana’s focus has been returning to her roots in painting. Her newest body of work is based on Polaroid images that have been hand-manipulated with a stylus, enlarged and stretched onto canvas, and painted with oil paints. The resulting pieces are vibrant and colorful floral celebrations of nature’s exquisite detail.
